The History Book of Old Blue Jonathan Allday, from the Class of 1979, covers a highly-detailed range of 19th Century history. Topics included the Franco-Prussian War of 1871, (for which he received 17/20 ‘Sound’; Bismarck’s Problems in Domestic Policy 1871-90 (17/20 ‘Good’); The Balkan Question (18/20 ‘Very good’); and the Scramble for Africa (16/20 ‘Careless spellings, generally sound’).
